At Vasacare we endeavour to ensure your journey is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible and we understand that every patient's needs and expectations are different. Routes to treatment will also differ from patient to patient dependent on whether you choose to come as a self-paying patient or through your private medical insurance.

Self-paying patients

As a self-paying patient, you are not required to get a referral from your GP but letters are welcomed. Your initial step towards receiving treatment is to book your initial consultation with Mr Dodd at either Hill Medical CLinic or Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield or Evolve Medical Clinic In Leeds. The friendly and professional teams at the respective sites are on hand to provide guidance in arranging your first appointment. Once this is arranged, treatment is recommended on a patient by patient basis. Treatment availability will depend on the nature of treatment and general clinic availability which can usually be advised at the time of your appointment.

Insured patients

We are aware that the process of dealing with private medical insurance companies can be daunting. We are available to assist patients in dealing with any queries they may have in relation to their likely coverage, although ultimately this decision will rest with their insurers' own medical personnel. Privately insured patients are encouraged to seek pre-authorisation prior to making an appointment and to bring this with them to the appointment to avoid unnecessary delays. This is normally a straightforward process but some insurers do require a GP referral so please check this in advance. We are recognised with the following major insurance companies; AVIVA, AXA PPP, BUPA/BUPA International/BUPA Benenden, CIGNA/CIGNA International, Exeter Friendly Society, Northumbria Police Federation, Simply Health, Vitality Health, Westfield Health, WPA.

We welcome patients covered with above insurers but this is not an exhaustive list. If you are covered with another company, please contact us for advice on whether we are a registered provider.
