Biography
I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon. I qualified from the University of Manchester in 1989 and have worked in Sheffield in both NHS and private practice since 2002.
As a vascular specialist I treat a whole range of vascular diseases including abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid and peripheral arterial disease.
I have a special interest in the minimally-invasive treatment of varicose veins. I perform endovenous laser, radiofrequency and foam sclerotherapy treatments. I introduced endovenous laser ablation to Sheffield in 2004 and have performed over 1000 endovenous procedures. I have trained surgeons in this technique from throughout the UK and Europe.
I also treat thoracic outlet syndrome and perform endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy for palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis and facial flushing.
Insurance
I am recognised by all the major UK health insurance providers, my full name is Peter Dominic Francis Dodd. Fees for insured patients are in line with those published online by WPA. Insured patients normally require a GP referral to see me.
Self paying patients
Self paying patients can arrange to see me directly by contacting Claremont or Thornbury Hospitals out-patient reception. Option price packages have been developed for the more common conditions by BMI Thornbury, whilst similarly competitive packages are now available at Claremont. Prices and appointments can be discussed by calling 0808 101 0337 for Thornbury Hospital or 0114 263 2101 for Claremont Hospital.
